Sending / Receiving / Processing Authority Data Formats

Directive 2014/55/EU

Directive 2014/55/EU stipulates that all EU states must be able to receive and process invoices electronically by the end of 2020. As a framework, all invoice data formats of all EU members are based on the CEN standard. Based on this, the respective countries have implemented their country-specific circumstances as independent invoice formats. They are all related, but not identical. In order for a sender or recipient to cope with this in international business, you need a service provider who is familiar with it - preferably b4 or one of the TRAFFIQX® providers. The ability to exchange invoices and all other business documents with your business partners offers great potential for all parties involved.

Electronic invoice processing enables immediate cost savings as well as a relevant optimisation of the entire invoice processing up to complete automation. Therefore, both the sender and the recipient are beneficiaries. What used to be reserved exclusively for large companies and corporations is now possible for companies of all sectors and sizes with one provider!

Save time

Transmit/process documents in real time! Regardless of loading limits and different lengths of routes from the post office to the final destination, electronic documents are simply available faster. A fast processing time of invoices not least serves the contractor through faster payment and the client through compliance with discount periods.

Save money

Electronic processing of documents reduces a large part of the costs of a conventional process. Apart from postage, which is probably the biggest cost factor, the purchase, maintenance and servicing of printers, as well as the elimination of paper, enveloping and working time should not be ignored. On the recipient side, the time-consuming manual process of processing incoming mail can be automated to a large extent.

Protect the environment

Transmission and processing of electronic documents and data sets without media discontinuity sustainably protects the environment and contributes to a more conscious use of scarce resources. If you realise that far too often today digital information is still put on paper, transported over long distances, only to be converted back into digital documents, this realisation leaves no doubt: there is no reason to keep this up!

How are authority data formats submitted to the authorities?

The transmission of invoices to the authorities is organised very differently from country to country. While in Italy, for example, there is a strict and uniform procedure for submitting invoices with the SDI, this is much more differentiated in federally organised states such as Germany. Although there are efforts towards standardisation in every country, there is still a colourful landscape of transmission channels and procedures due to the very wide variation in business processes of the different industries and company sizes. provide the necessary overview and help you to deliver your invoices quickly and reliably from your existing systems.
